An evergreen tropical plant, Ceylon Golden is a stunning plant with its bright neon or fluorescent foliage. The leaves are long and oval shaped growing on a bright green fleshy stem. Philodendrons similar to Ceylon Golden exist in South America in tropical forests and swamps. In Greek, Phileo means 'to love' and dendron means tree, and probably named so as in their natural habitats they are epiphytes growing on trees. Ceylon Golden is known for its unique paddle-shaped leaves which are bright neon or fluorescent imparting a gold-like shine to the look of the plant. It can grow up to 10 feet in height as it matures. And so, Ceylon Golden would need to be pruned to keep a height in check as desired. Ceylon Golden is stated to depict semi-vine-like characteristics. If provided with support like a moss stick it could grow and gain height like a vine, otherwise, it could be pruned regularly and would grow upright if maintained at a certain height of say about a foot or so. Ceylon Golden plant thrives well indoors but could do well in shaded outdoors too as long as it does not get exposed to direct sunlight and is protected from extreme temperatures. Ceylon Golden is quite a low-maintenance plant and with the right conditions indoors it can be a long lasting and gorgeous plant to add to your space.
