• Take a mature plant with offshoots.
• Trim off the mature plant with clean gardening shears.
• Put these cuttings directly in water till you see new roots forming.

• Make sure the soil is kept slightly damp if you are growing your plant in soil. Don’t allow the soil to dry out arid but don’t overwater as it can cause root rot. 

Bamboo does not need much water to survive, but it can be grown in water as well. 

• Ensure that the roots always stay covered with water, when growing your bamboo in water. To keep it flourishing remember replenishing your lucky bamboo with fresh water every seven to 10 days. 

• Remember refreshing the water at least once a week as unkempt waters can harbour the growth of Algae. Make sure to clean the container and change the water regularly (about once a week). 

• If you plan on using tap water for your bamboo plant make sure the chlorine levels are low. One way to do this is to leave tap water out overnight so the chlorine can evaporate before using the water for your lucky bamboo.

• Distilled or bottled water is always a much more suitable and reliable option. As water bearing any amounts of chlorine is bound to negatively impact the plant.

Is lucky bamboo plant safe for pets?

Although, lucky bamboo is not toxic to humans. Lucky bamboo is toxic for pets. Keep it away from your cats and dogs. If consumed by your furry friends it can cause weakness, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, drooling and dilated pupils. 

How much sunlight does a lucky bamboo plant need?

If your plant's leaves look a little scorched, make sure to move your bamboo to an area with less light. 

Your Lucky bamboo requires moderate or indirect sunlight optimally. To avoid scorching the leaves, do not place the plant in bright sunlight. You can try placing your plant in front of a bright window, instead. 

How often should you water lucky bamboo plant ?

Use filtered water, such as bottled water if you have high levels of fluoride in your tap water. Chemicals like fluoride are toxic to plants like lucky bamboo.

Make sure to water the plant two or three times each week to keep it growing.
